Introduction to Engineering Design
Designed and built a device in a team to help teach Physics to students in grades 6-8. Concepts taught were rotary motion and basic electronic circuits. The entire process was documented and presented at an expo.
Advanced Manufacturing Lab
Created a manufacturing plan to build 600 snowglobes. Designed component manufacturing processes, tooling and assembly fixtures. Lab periods allowed for hands on experience with robotic assembly, Rapid Prototyping, CNC machining and other manufacturing processes. The teams project was selected for production in the spring of 2006.
Project was selected as a National Finalist in the 2006 ASME Student Design Competition
PDI Design Studio II
Project 1: Reverse-engineered a consumer product, then proposed changes. Concepts of product form and function introduced, as well as sketching and presentation techniques.
Project 2: Designed a product that would be useful to incoming freshmen. Research of consumer needs were determined, and the design process was used throughout.
