The following steps are used to prepare a Real Audio/Video Slide show:
-
1. A tex file giving the problem and its solution is prepared
using Scientific Notebook. The layout of the text is kept to about half
of the width of the screen area in order to compensate for distortion when
this text is imported into Power Point.
-
2. The tex file is broken into "slide size pieces" and saved as
a series of graphics file using LView
. LView allows one to capture portions of the computer screen
as graphics files.
-
3. Power Point is used to prepare the slide show. Each graphics
file is imported as a slide and then narration is added to the slide show.
-
4. Real Presenter, a Real Player add on for Power Point, is then used
to put the slide show into a format which will then run on the Real Player
Server which is set up on Attila. It is interesting to note that the conversion
from a Power Point slide show to Real Player format results in significant
compression of the slide show.
