Project Description

Wave Energy Power Generator (WEPG)

The Wave Energy Power Generator efficiently captures the ocean wave energy and converts it into useful electrical power; by taking advantage of the heave movement of the waves, a buoy driven submerged piston pumps large volumes of water into a storage tank which directs the fluid to a hydro-turbine and ultimately generates electrical power. This project focuses on the mechanism of the buoy and piston-cylinder assemblies and demonstrates the feasibility of an actual system.
