Biography

Dr. Saravut Yaipairoj was born in Bangkok, Thailand . He earned his bachelor degree in Telecommunication Engineering from King Mongkut Institute of Technology, Thailand and joined Advanced Info Service (AIS) PLC., a well-known mobile operator in Thailand, as a network transmission engineer. In 1997. He came to the United States and earned two master degrees in Computer Networking and Communication Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. After that, he joined Lucent Technologies as a network engineer. He involved in several proposals such as Wireless Transport network, Voice over DSL, DWDM. In 2007, he earned a doctoral degree in Telecommunication Management at Stevens Institute of Technology. His area of research includes network performance analysis and pricing in telecommunication networks. Currently he is working at Total Access Communications PLC (DTAC) in Bangkok, Thailand as a product manager for International Direct Dialling (IDD) services.

Industry Background

  • Total Access Communications PLC (DTAC), Bangkok, Thailand from 2007 to present. Dr. Yaipairoj is responsible for International services related to International Direct Dialing (IDD) on both retail and wholesale services. On the wholesale side, he supervises the routing of IDD gateway as well as works with carrier partners such as Telenor, Hutchison Global Communications, Verizon business for interconnection to Thailand. On the retail side, he is responsible for all of IDD products and their pricing. He involves in creating marketing and pricing strategy for DTAC in order to provide high qualiy IDD services to its subscribers.
  • Lucent Technologies, Holmdel, New Jersey from 2000 to 2001. Dr. Yaipairoj was responsible for DWDM optical network design and conducted cost study on the network architecture and Lucent DWDM products for both customers and Lucent Proprietary use. He also Involved in several projects such as DWDM Transport network, SONET network, Voice over DSL, and Wireless transport network .
  • Advanced Info Services PLC., Bangkok, Thailand from 1996 to 1997. Dr. Yaipairoj was responsible for the maintenance of optical transmission links for mobile transport networks in metropolitan area (Bangkok and vicinity). He also actively involved in the microwave and optical transmission planning in both urban and rural areas as well as the feasibility studies of the transport networks.
