Summary and Review

Units of Structure and Song Forms

 

The Units of Structure and principle Song Forms we have studied so far are the critical building blocks for larger multimovment forms. This class we will present a review and overview of the structures and song forms
we have heretofore discussed. It may be helpful to print out the below graphs for easy reference.



Homework: Assignment 1: Due in two weeks. (Thurs Oct 21)

Write a five part song with. Include auxiliary members in at least two parts of your composition. You must write out the complete accompaniment and indicate your cadences . Indicate significant harmonic, tonal, or atonal concepts on the score. Render your composition to an mp3 and submit both the PDF of the finale file and the mp3.to hmu310@gmail.com Be prepared to present your composition using the analytical tools we have discussed.
