Rifle looked in bad shape when received but when thoroughly cleaned I found it to have 80% of blue intact. Every part covered with grease (not cosmoline but a grey grease) and full of sand. After some Hoppes powder solvent, a brass bore brush and a pile of cotton patches, bore is bright and shiny as a new nickle. Only thorough cleaning and scrubbing with solvent and a brass brush, bristle brush and some steel wool to remove some minor rust and caked on grease on metal parts as well as stock. Cant wait to take it to the range. |
