Open Positions

NIH-funded openings—we are looking for talented and enthusiastic individuals to join us in understanding and devising new therapies for acute lung injury.
Current openings for technician/researcher, postdoctoral fellow and/or Ph.D. student

Possible Projects
•Investigating the physiological effects of lowering surface tension in injured lungs.
•Investigating the mechanical mechanism of spatial propagation of VILI throughout lungs.
•Investigating the biophysical mechanism through which sulforhodmine B lowers surface tension in the lungs.

Requirements
•For technician/researcher or postdoctoral fellow applicants, experience with small animal surgery is highly desireable.
•For postdoctoral fellow applicants, training in engineering physiology or biophysics is desireable.
•Ph.D. applicants must hold an undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. A master's degree; background in cardiopulmonary mechanics or physiology; and research experience are desirable but not required.
•LabVeiw programming capability would be welcome.

Environment
Stevens, in Hoboken, NJ, provides a multidisciplinary research training environment. The beautiful campus is located on the Hudson River, directly opposite and 10 minutes by train from lower Manhattan.
