Principal Investigator

Yanghyo Kim

Rod graduated from UCLA with his Ph.D. in electrical engineering. Before joining Stevens as an assistant professor, he developed space sensors at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, millimeter-wave wireless interconnects at Keyssa, and wireless power transfer receivers at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. Rod was a publicity chair for the 2021 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference. He is currently an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques and the technical program review committee for the IEEE International Microwave Symposium.

Postdoc

Abhishek Sharma received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK), Uttar Pradesh, India, in 2019. He was a postdoctoral fellow at City University of Hong Kong before joining Stevens as a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Yanghyo Kim's group. His current research interests include applied electromagnetics, primarily metasurfaces and antennas, with applications ranging from microwaves to terahertz frequencies. He received the URSI-InRaSS Young Indian Radio Scientist Award in 2019 during the URSI Asia-Pacific Radio Science Conference in New Delhi. He is currently serving as an associate editor for the IET Electronics Letters. www.sharma-abhishek.com
